Play therapy
#fhtogglels/More Info/Close/eb
Play therapy is a therapeutic model where a trained Play Therapist uses the powers of play to help children, adolescents, and families prevent or resolve difficulties in their lives. Play therapy is more than just play. It is an effective way for children to express themselves in a fun and safe way when “talk therapy” may not be the most appropriate option.
Play therapy can be useful to treat a lot of caregiver concerns such as: anxiety, depression, attachment, family difficulties, trauma, divorce, school and behavioral difficulties.

Individual therapy
#fhtogglels/More Info/Close/eb
Individual therapy is for anyone that wants to work on becoming the healthiest version of themselves. Therapy may address issues such as family of origin, relationships, addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, PTSD, and more. Meeting with a therapist can help individuals process their past experiences and hurts to move toward a place of healing and a healthier life. Therapists at Olive Branch Counseling may take approaches such as Play Therapy and Sand Tray Therapy with children; and for adolescence and adults, we will utilize Person Centered, CBT, Systems, and Emotionally Focused Therapy, among other specialties.

Couples therapy
#fhtogglels/More Info/Close/eb
Olive Branch Counseling believes in helping couples achieve safety and connection with one another. Issues that we may work on with couples include communication, money, intimacy, infidelity, mistrust, children, and work related struggles. We focus on helping couples work through these challenges to grow in safety and closeness with one another. We primarily use emotionally focused therapy with couples as a framework and map for reaching those goals of unity and connection. Emotionally focused therapy (EFT), developed initially by Dr. Sue Johnson, is based on a theory of attachment and bonding that has been proven effective through much research. EFT provides a map that leads toward couples finding a safe bond and healthy attachment with one another. Exploring emotions and being vulnerable moves couples from disconnection to safety and closeness that can help them navigate life’s toughest challenges.

Family therapy
#fhtogglels/More Info/Close/eb
Family therapy is an opportunity for some or all family members to gather with one another to discuss what might be disrupting the family system. Each family member is heard and seen during this process that aims to move toward safety and connection within the entire family. The focus is on developing healthy attachments that lead to trust, vulnerability, and closeness that can help families not only survive but bond through whatever life may bring them.

Premarital therapy

Olive Branch Counseling works with “soon to be” couples in identifying and addressing potential challenges and helping them build on relational strengths. We meet 6-12 times and prefer to begin roughly 6 months before the wedding. We believe that discussing potential future issues can help couples create a strong foundation for their marriage. In sessions we will address topics such as family of origin, sex, money, expectations, roles, cycles and other areas that reveal insight to having better unity and connection.
